Title: Night at AMFA Artist: Joel Boyd Details: Reproduction print. Original is a 8.5”x11” watercolor on paper Description: Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in MacArthur Park
Artist Story: I grew up in Rector, Arkansas and relocated to Little Rock in 2019 for job opportunities in the arts. The Little Rock community has given me incredible visual arts opportunities, from painting downtown murals, to client commissions, to joining the faculty at the Windgate Art School of the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA). The AMFA is not only my place of employment, but an enormous source of inspiration for me as a fine art painter. I think Little Rock and Arkansas is extremely fortunate to have the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. For college, I studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. I rode a bicycle everywhere I needed to go; from campus to groceries to Forsyth Park. It was both possible and popular. I miss that very much. I hate driving a car, but it is a necessity here. I would love for Little Rock to embrace a more walkable and cyclist safe experience across the city.
Artist Profile: An artist is just what I was meant to be. I work in just about every painting medium. Mural painting is a main focus of my work, but I also really enjoy watercolor on a very small scale. Portfolio: www.joelboydfineart.com Contact: Email [email protected]
